Luna Antiquita - my aesthetic
A post from my old blog on the aesthetic I've refined.

Luna Antiquita is the term i use(d) for my aesthetic. I follow a set of guide lines and a specific color pallet.

I avoid bright colors, especially warm tones such as yellow, red and orange. I rarely ever wear blue or purple and have a tendency of dying my blue garments green. I actually don’t think I currently own any blue or purple garments.
Neon and bold colors are pretty off limits. Even neon green would just be too bold

Black is fine in moderation but most black garments I like I bleach brown. I really like this method as the cotton fabric will turn but the polyester thread stays black, and it can add a little more detail to outfits and open up the color palette of the fit.

Although a lot of people note the elegances of Luna Antiquita to me, the aesthetic is inspired by more than rococo corsets and Lolita skirts.
Pinterest was my best friend in refining my taste. I could just add everything I liked to my board and look for patterns.
I loved a wide variety of looks and styles, but I found a few sort of reoccuring elements that I began using as the center of my outfits and art.
Silhouette- small top & big bottom, oversized
Think Lolita or historical dresses, cinched to the waist and wide cupcake or bell shaped skirts. Crop tops and baby tees with wide legged pants (I love jncos!) 90s skater girls with tank tops and cargo shorts.
Layers- tons of them
Although I have always loved bell shaped ballgowns since childhood, textile art and jfashion (morigirl, cultpartykei) helped me recognize I love an ungodly amount of layers especially lace.
Fabrics- natural and lightweight
Ecological impact and again styles like morigirl and cult party aswell as artists like Colette Lumiere.
Color Pallette- like the luna moth
The luna moth was my original color pallette inspiration. Cream, ivory, and pastel greens.

All of these elements together has helped me find a distinct style that fits me.
